  • Video: fixed an issue where video playout from the VMS stopped after 3 seconds when using a Safari web browser.

Feature updates:

  • New feature: we’ve added a big new feature to Overlays, namely ‘Clickable area overlays’. With this feature, an admin user can draw ‘free form’ areas using 3 or more moveable points, to act as overlays over a video. This area then becomes clickable and supports several actions: jump to a specific position in the video, open an internal or external URL or show an info text box. It is even possible to add a picture to the created area, for more interactivity. To start creating your first clickable area overlay, click on the context menu (…) of a video and click on the new button ‘Area overlays’.

  • New feature: another new addition to the VMS is ‘Pagination’. Instead of offering infinitely scrolling pages, VMS users can now easily navigate through an overview of videos or other items. You can select the amount of items to see on a single page. The navigation can be found at the top and bottom of any list, to prevent the user to have to scroll up and down constantly. Another big bonus is that we can now send the user back to the page they came from after for instance editing a video’s metadata. Especially for platforms with a lot of video content, this makes navigation a whole lot easier.

  • Live streaming: Tradecast now fully supports AWS’s Elemental Link product for super easy and high quality live streaming. Please refer to https://aws.amazon.com/medialive/features/link/ for more information and prices*.
    • *All Tradecast channels that have Live Streaming enabled can make use of Elemental Link. Please contact us if you are interested in this as there is a small amount of configuration needed on your channel, that Tradecast is happy to do for you free of charge.
    • **As Tradecast currently doesn’t support 4K / UHD video as standard, the device Tradecast currently recommends is the Elemental Link HD. Customers that require 4K live streaming are invited to contact us so we can work out the optimal solution.

  • Live streaming: we’ve added an information screen indicating the cost of a Premium live stream, based on the settings and additional features chosen. Please note that this indication is only for the resources; the traffic costs of a live stream event depend on the number of viewers and can therefore never be calculated upfront.

  • Videos: some improvements only require minimal effort and this is a stellar example: we’ve added recommended thumbnail resolution suggestions for videos. A small, but helpful addition!

  • Products: we’ve added payment service provider Klarna as a new payment option for TVOD (Transactional Video on Demand). Please note that Klarna cannot be used for SVOD (i.e. subscriptions with recurring payments). This is a limitation from our payment provider Stripe. If you want to provide Klarna as a payment option for your channel, please contact us and we will enable it for you.

  • VMS: we’ve added the Resource Center to your VMS as a way of easily delivering updates and information. You might have already noticed the new icon in the bottom right corner of the VMS. There is a world of information available behind that button, so feel free to click on it and check it out. More information will be continuously added to the Resource Center.

  • Marketing Slider: we have redesigned the menus for the Marketing Slider, Slide and CTA menus to make them more intuitive.

  • Subtitles: from now on, all uploaded subtitle files, chapter information and metadata are stored in VTT track files that can be made visible in a new browser tab to be copied/pasted.
